Dance Starts Here Programs
Our Dance Starts Here developmental program is designed to inspire students between the ages of 3-6 to begin developmental foundational skills in dance through movement exploration. Students develop motor skills, rhythmic awareness, coordination, and discipline through learning Rhythm Acting & Movement (RAM) in Pre-Ballet, African, Afro-Caribbean, Hip-Hop, Capoeira, Jazz, Liturgical, Tap, and Theater. Black dance history, culture, and traditions are laced throughout dance genres.
No previous dance experience is required. We offer programming throughout the year to keep students engaged and learning all year round.
Fall Season 2024
The Fall Season of our Dance Starts Here program runs from September to December. The program consists of two groups: three-—and four-year-olds and five-—and six-year-olds. They take classes based on our RAM model. They will spend three weeks on a specific technique and instructor before moving to the next discipline.
The three- and four-year-olds participate in one forty-five-minute class per week. Classes take place on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. or Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
The five and six year olds participate in two-one hour classes per week. Classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00pm - 6:00pm, or Saturdays 9:00am - 11:00am.
Spring Season 2025
The Spring Season of our Dance Starts Here program runs from January through April. The program consists of two groups: three-—and four-year-olds and five-—and six-year-olds. They take classes consisting of RAM (

Students participating in our Spring season may also audition for our Annual Spring Dance Concert
Summer Season 2025
The Summer Season of our Dance Starts Here program is a six-week Intensive designed for five-—and six-year-olds. It runs from June to August.
The five- and six-year-olds participate in a six-week program that runs Mondays through Fridays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students are immersed in activities the feed the Spirit, Mind, and Body. The Dance Starts Here Summer Intensive is more than dance as we offer classes in Science, Language, Art, Music, Dance, and so much more.
